The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred early today on I-95 in Baltimore City.
MDTA Police Officers assigned to the Central Command Detachment responded to the southbound lanes of I-95 prior to the entrance to the Fort McHenry Tunnel on Thursday around 6 a.m.
Responding officers located a white tractor trailer which had struck the divider separating the southbound tubes. The crash caused the tractor to catch fire, which spread to the trailer.
The trailer was carrying vegetables and other produce.
Personnel from the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Fire Departments responded to the crash and treated the driver of the tractor trailer for minor injuries.
Fire department personnel also assisted with the cleanup of fuel that leaked from the tractor trailer following the crash.
The MDTA Police Commercial Vehicle Safety Unit responded to the crash and continues to investigate.
The right tube partially reopened at approximately 7:30 a.m.
All lanes reopened after 2:30 p.m.
