Eastern Boulevard Trash Pick-Up in Essex Moved to Spring

Essex Community Development Corporation announced their Trash Pick-Up along the Eastern Boulevard scheduled for Monday, Jan. 20 has been moved to April 21 because of the frigid temperatures. Here is their statement:

“We understand many folks were looking forward to our Monday, January 20 Trash Pick-Up, and we want to THANK YOU for your incredible commitment to our community! After considering the forecast calling temperatures of 10-20°F on Monday (made even colder with the wind chill), we have made the decision to postpone the event to the spring.

The safety and well-being of our volunteers is our highest priority, especially given the recent increase in respiratory illnesses in our area. While we know this change may be disappointing, we believe hosting the cleanup during more favorable weather will allow everyone to participate safely and make an even greater impact.

Essex Community Development Corporation and Maryland Waterways Foundation invite you to join us for our Earth Day Trash Pick-Up along the Eastern Boulevard corridor in Essex on Monday, April 21. This spring date will not only provide better conditions for our volunteers but also coincide with Earth Day celebrations.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our community initiatives. We look forward to working together to make our spring cleanup a success.
