Baltimore County Councilman David Marks announced that the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) will be receiving a $90,000 grant as part a larger award to the Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability,
The GVC is a private, Maryland non-profit organization with over 35 years of experience in identifying and conducting resident and community-based restoration projects.
This grant will go towards supporting the GVC’s mission of caring for the land, water and character of the Gunpowder River Watershed.
The GVC plans to use the award to support community and stream cleanup, installing green stormwater infrastructure, training volunteers and continue reforestation efforts.
Councilman Marks expressed his support of the grant, saying, “the Gunpowder Valley Conversancy is a key partner in enhancing the environment and preserving the natural beauty of Baltimore County.”
