The following article was submitted by Baltimore County Councilman David Marks about the supporting the purchase of 24 acres of land near New Cut Road in Kingsville
Baltimore County Councilman David Marks announced that Baltimore County will be supporting the purchase of development rights on 24 acres on New Cut Road.
The location is near Sunshine Avenue and adjacent to existing preserved property.
The Baltimore County Council will vote on the county’s share of development rights at its meeting on Monday, Dec. 15.
“By purchasing development rights, Baltimore County is essentially removing future growth on properties. Private property owners agree to participate in the program. No one forces a sale,” Councilman Marks commented.
“I will continue to support preserving farms and other green space throughout Baltimore County.”
A map of the proposed purchase is abo, with existing preserved property in green. The county share of the easement is estimated at $309,400.
