The Maryland Transportation Authority reported all piles have been installed for the main line of the north and south trestles (work platforms) connecting the land to the north and south pylons of the new Key Bridge.
“There 91 piles on the south line and 126 piles on the north line
If lined up end to end, they would stretch more than 35,000 linear feet—approximately 6.6 miles, or nearly the length of 97 football fields,” said a statement from MDTA.
“The piles create the foundation for the work platform that will support ongoing bridge construction activities.”
