Raphel Road Reopens in Kingsville

The Maryland Department of Transportation announced that Raphel Road has reopened in Kingsville. The bridge over I-95 was closed in February 2022 for construction of the Express Toll Lanes.

The MDTA said they thank local residents and motorists for their patience and released the following statement:

“The reconstruction of the Raphel Road overpass is part of the Express Toll Lanes (ETL) Northbound Extension Program between MD 43 and north of MD 24. In addition, the proposed improvements will increase quality of life for numerous communities with the addition of several new noise walls and will replace or rehabilitate seven bridges that are more than 50 years old,” said a statement on the MDTA Facebook page.

“The extension is expected to be open to traffic by the end of 2024 to MD 152, with the full extension to north of MD 24 open to traffic by the end of 2027.”
