Campbell Blvd. Traffic Light to Activated by Thanksgiving

The following article was submitted by the Office of Councilman David Marks about the activation of a traffic signal at Bird River Road and Campbell Boulevard

Baltimore County Councilman David Marks announced that the traffic signal at Bird River Road and Campbell Boulevard in Middle River will be activated by Thanksgiving.

The signal will start as flashing and then transition to full operations.

“This signal has been one of my priorities in the Middle River area,” Councilman Marks commented.

“Numerous motorists have contacted me over the past three years about safety and mobility here, and I think the Department of Public Works and Transportation for advancing this project once the intersection met the traffic standards.”

Ray Peele, president of the Preserves at Windlass Run Homeowners Association, helped lead public support for safety here and along Campbell Boulevard.

“We would like to thank Councilman Marks for pushing hard for this light and for the other safety improvements along Campbell Boulevard installed earlier this year.”

Councilman Marks acknowledged the support of Senator Jennings and Delegates Nawrocki and Szeliga as well, and the work of the Essex Middle River Civic Council.

The traffic light is the second major safety improvement to be completed in the Fifth District since the summer.

To qualify for a traffic light, an intersection must meet certain standards established in the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
