Eastern Boulevard Safety Meeting

Delegates Ryan Nawrocki and Kathy Szeliga are announcing a community meeting hosted by the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) to present the findings of the Eastern Boulevard Traffic Safety Study for the stretch of Eastern Blvd between MD 43 and Earls Road.

The meeting will focus on plans to improve traffic conditions in this corridor.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, at 7 p.m. st the Gunpowder VFW, located at 6309 Ebenezer Road in Middle River.

SHA officials will present the results of their safety review and respond to questions from the community.

The study was initiated in response to growing concerns over traffic accidents, injuries, and fatalities along Eastern Boulevard, particularly in light of the increased traffic from ongoing development in the area.

“This corridor has become increasingly dangerous for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists alike,” said Delegate Ryan Nawrocki, emphasizing the urgent need for action.

“For too long, our community has endured serious safety concerns on Eastern Boulevard. This meeting is an opportunity for residents to hear directly from SHA and ensure that meaningful solutions are implemented.”

The Eastern Boulevard corridor is a critical transportation route for residents of Eastern Baltimore County. However, recent growth and development have led to increased traffic and heightened safety risks.

“There have been too many accidents, including tragic fatalities on Eastern Blvd,” said Delegate Kathy Szeliga.

“This meeting will provide everyone a chance to hear the much-needed information from the State Highway Administration. We strongly encourage people to attend and participate.”

All residents and businesses of Middle River, Bowleys Quarters, Chase, Oliver Beach, Essex, and surrounding communities affected by the Eastern Boulevard corridor are encouraged to attend this important public meeting.

The feedback and engagement of local citizens will not only be heard but will also play a role in shaping future improvements.
