The Parkville Precinct 9 Police Community Relations Council (PCRC) will hold its next meeting on Tuesday April 22 at 7 p
m. at Christus Victor Lutheran Church (9833 Harford Road).
Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger is the guest speaker. He will provide some insight into the organization of his office and prosecuting crimes in Baltimore County.
The PCRC meets monthly to provide an opportunity for citizens to meet with their respective Precinct Commanders and other attending Police personnel.
The meetings are an ideal way to resolve any issues that exist between the Police Department and the community, as well as provide a forum where citizens can have neighborhood problems addressed by the Police Department and the community.
These meetings also allow the Police Department to inform the community of area crime and crime trends, departmental programs and enlist their assistance in crime prevention projects.
The PCRC is also responsible for recognizing the achievements of Officers within their Precinct on a monthly and yearly basis.
The PCRC also coordinates fundraisers to purchase and provide needed equipment and supplies to the Police precincts they serve.
With all these important functions, increasing participation in the Precinct 8 Police Community Relations Council is an important goal that must be achieved.
