Councilman Marks: County to Replant Cherry Trees at Moores Orchard

Baltimore County Councilman David Marks announced that the Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation has agreed to replant the same variety of cherry trees that was removed in May at the Moores Orchard entrance.

The trees were removed due to an accessibility complaint.  According to Marks, he and the homeowner association were not notified.

Since the removal of the trees,  Marks explained he was able to get the stumps quickly removed and the sidewalk replaced.  The county is also revising its rules to improve better notification to County Council offices and homeowner associations.

The  trees will be planted when the weather is cooler in the fall.

“I would like to thank the Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation and the Moores Orchard community for their productive discussion,”  Marks said.
