No Kings Protests were held all over the country, including Eastern Baltimore County.
Protests were held in Dundalk at the corner of Wise Avenue and Holabird Avenue; in Essex at the corner of Back River Neck Road and Eastern Boulevard; and in Perry Hall at the corner of Belair Road and Joppa/Ebenezer roads.
8th District Delegate Nick Allen and
Congressman Johnny Olszewski Jr. were some of the Democratic elected officials at the local protests. The events were held to protest President Donald Trump.
“When I swore my oath, I swore it to the Constitution, not to any President, king, or emperor,” Allen said on social media.
7th District Republican Delegate Ryan Nawrocki responded to the No Kings Protest and said they have gotten the wrong king.
“The Maryland Freedom Caucus agrees, there should be No Moore Kings,” Nawrocki said as he shared a photo of Maryland Governor Wes Moore
“Marylanders worked hard for their retirement, and they deserve to keep it. Taxing retirement income punishes seniors who’ve already paid their fair share. It’s time for leadership that serves the people, not rules over them.”
