Marks’ Legislation Extends Review Period for Wastewater Charges

The Office of Councilman David Marks released the following press release about his legislation that passed on Monday night.

At the Baltimore County Council meeting on October 6th, Councilman David Marks passed legislation that provides a longer review period for disputing wastewater charges.

The bill gives the Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation up to one year for considering modifications or a waiver to the charges that consumers must pay.

Councilman Marks introduced the legislation after hearing from a constituent who did not know of the charges until well after buying a new home.

“This is a homeowner-friendly bill that gives the Public Works Director more flexibility in responding to constituents who dispute their wastewater charges,” Councilman Marks commented.

“I thank the Council for its support.”
