Starting today, Community College of Baltimore County is offering free access to its pools this summer, providing community members with designated swim hours at the Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex campuses from June 22 through Aug. 20.
This initiative reflects CCBC’s commitment to providing accessible, welcoming spaces for the community.
Pool hours for each campus are as follows:
* CCBC Catonsville: 6:30 – 8 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
* CCBC Dundalk: 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. and 4 – 6 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays
* CCBC Essex: 3 – 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
According to CCBC, there is no fee to swim, swimmers must complete an online waiver and obtain a CCBC OneCard prior to entering the pool.
Community members are encouraged to complete the waiver in advance to allow time for processing.
Pools will operate in accordance with established safety guidelines, with certified lifeguards on duty and staff available to assist with check-in.
“We are pleased to offer this opportunity to our communities,” said CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis.
“Following a successful pilot at CCBC Essex last summer, we are expanding access to include our three campuses to better serve our neighbors and strengthen community connections.”
Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier said she is appreciative of CCBC expanding pool access for county residents.
“Access to safe places to stay active and cool off during the summer is important for our families and communities,” said Klausmeier.
“By offering free access to these pools, CCBC is giving more children, families and seniors the opportunity to swim, exercise and spend time together close to home. I want to thank CCBC for making these facilities available and expanding access to resources that help keep our communities healthy, connected and active through the summer.”
