A ribbon cutting was held for Nottingham Middle School.
Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Councilmembers Mike Ertel & David Marks and other dignitaries were on hand for the event. Marks has been working for a new middle schools to alleviate with the overcrowding issues at Perry Hall Middle.
The new school is the culmination of nearly a decade of efforts by parents, community leaders, educators and elected officials. It not only anchors the neighborhoods in White Marsh and Rossville, but has helped eliminate overcrowding at Perry Hall Middle School. Congratulations,” Marks said.
The ceremony featured fantastic performances by the choir, band ensemble, an individual dance choreography, and a special speech from 8th grader Kemisola.
“Sincerest congratulations to Nottingham Middle School! This morning, I attended the official ribbon cutting for the school alongside students, teachers, elected officials, administrators, and school board members. Baltimore County hasn’t built a new middle school building since 2006. Investing in new schools ensures that we are making a better future for students in Baltimore County,” Ertel said.
“We are grateful for this new and improved learning environment for students to thrive in their education.”
