The following press release was released by Baltimore County Public Schools
The committee charged with examining attendance areas and considering boundary options among three southeastern-area elementary schools will begin its work at its first meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Middle River Middle School cafeteria.
The meeting is the first of six possible committee sessions, including a public information session scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 22.
The study seeks to maximize the use of available space and balance enrollment among Chase, Oliver Beach, and Seneca elementary schools.
New boundary lines would be effective for the start of the 2026-2027 school year, pending approval from the Board of Education of Baltimore County. Background: Committee meetings, all from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays at Middle River Middle School, continue Sept. 24, Oct. 8 (if needed), Nov. 19, and Dec. 3 (if needed).
A special public information session will be held at Middle River Middle School from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, to consider data and to collect public feedback and option preferences.
The committee welcomes the public to attend and observe all committee meetings or to view the meetings online.
All committee meetings will be livestreamed, and all information, including a calendar of meeting times and all meeting materials, may be found on the Southeast Area Elementary School Boundary Study web page.
