Lane Closures to Begin on I-695 in Sparrows Point

The Maryland Transportation Authority reminds motorists that construction is about to begin on I-695 in Sparrows Point.

One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction of I-695 between Bear Creek and MD 151. This will begin in mid-April (weather dependent), two-way traffic (one lane in each direction separated by a barrier) will be in place on the Outer Loop.

MDTA said to expect significant traffic delays throughout the work area, especially during morning and evening. Thru traffic should use I-895 or I-95 as alternate.

The will be a closure at the Inner Loop Exit 43. Motorists must use Exit 42 to access MD 157.
