Overlea Shuts Out Parkville 31-0

Overlea’s  Keyshon Green, Jalon Brewer and James Jenkins celebrate Issac Edwards’ fumble recovery

Overlea used their defense and running game in a 31-0 victory at Parkville on Saturday.

The Falcon defense had three turnovers and six sacks. Linebacker Issac Edwards led Overlea with two sacks and had a fumble recovery.

Overlea’s offense had over 100 yards including rushing touchdowns from quarterback Corey Perry, running backs Jalon Brewer and Kymmani Johnson.

Parkville had little offense on the day. Running back K’shawn Wallace had over 40 yards rushing and receiver Darrell Grissom caught a 27-yard pass for quarterback Hannes Lauterbach but most Knight drives ended in a punt or turnover.

Parkville’s defense was able to force two turnovers, including an interception by Lamount Purcell but Overlea finally got on the board in the second quarter when Perry connected with Keyshon Green with a 55-yard touchdown pass.

Overlea was up 12-0 at halftime and extended the margin when Davon Shell ran the opening second half kickoff back for a touchdown.

-Davon Shell had a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

On the next two Parkville series, Edwards recovered a fumble and Jayden Bradner had an interception that setup a Johnson 10-yard touchdown.

Johnson put the game away with a 50-yard touchdown run.

Keyshon Green had a 55-yard touchdown reception in the game-

Overlea improves to 3-2 and Parkville falls to 2-3.
