4A North Regional Finals-Perry Hall 2 Kenwood 1
Perry Hall Boys Soccer is in the 4A State Quarterfinals after the Gators defeated Kenwood 2-1.
According to Perry Hall High School Athletics Facebook page, The Gators jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead by scoring two goals in the first eight minutes Jacob Bondyra scored a goal on a Riley Ellenberger assist.Parker Newman scored the second goal three minutes later from an assist midfielder Ryan Varricchio.
The home team Bluebirds did not give up as Kenwood goalie Roger Loua kept his team in the game with key saves. Jean Claude got Kenwood’s first goal after a pass from Kelly Marciano to cut the deficit 2-1, but that the only goal scored by the Bluebirds.
Gator goalie Mohamed Nyass had one save in the won.
Perry Hall will host Crofton in the quarterfinals Saturday at 6 p.m.
2A North Regional Finals-Eastern 4 Dunbar 0
After defeating Sparrows Point in their first playoff game, the Mavericks traveled into Baltimore City to defeat Dunbar. Jake Locklear had three goals in the win for Eastern Tech.
The Mavericks advance to the 2A State Quarterfinals where they will play at CM Wright on Saturday at noon.
