Point and Overlea Improve to 2-0; Seven Others Lose

It was not a good weekend for local schools in football. With the exception of the local battle between Sparrows Point and Patapsco, Eastern Baltimore County schools went 1-6 outside the region.

Overlea, along with Sparrows Point, got their second win. Overlea is looking to go 3-0 and a for statement win over Dundalk this Friday.

The Owls and Perry Hall are both 0-2. Here is a recap:

Franklin 33 Parkville 6
The Knights are 1-1 after a road loss to Franklin. Parkville hosts Dulaney on Saturday. Dulaney is 2-0 with wins over Towson and Catonsville with the combined score of 80-8

Long Reach 37 Kenwood 14
Kenwood lost a game that was rescheduled to Monday. Now the Bluebirds must make a quick turnaround as they play at Hereford on Friday.

Sparrows Point 15 Patapsco 0
The Pointers got revenge from last year with a 15-0 win over rival Patapsco. Sparrows Point looks to go 3-0 Friday against Chesapeake. The Patriots will look to bounce back at Southern High School. The Southern Maryland high school is 0-2 and allowed over 50 points in their first two games.

Pikesville 13 Eastern Tech 6
The Mavericks fall to 0-2 after losing to Pikesville. The Mavericks return home looking for their first win against winless Lansdowne on Friday.

Oakland Mills 46 Perry Hall 8
The Gators are off to a 0-2 after losing to Howard County power Oakland Mills. Perry Hall will look for its first win this Friday, but it won’t be easy against Milford Mill.

Mount St. Joes 21 Dundalk 0
Dundalk has started off 0-2 but don’t let their record fool you. Both Owl losses were against elite private schools. Dundalk should get back to its winning wins as they begin their Baltimore County schedule. They play at Overlea, but the Falcons have been a surprise 2-0.

Overlea 22 Bel Air 15
Speaking of the Falcons, they started off 2-0 by winning at Frederick Douglass and at Bel Air. Overlea will face a tough Dundalk team in their home opener.

Woodlawn 27 Chesapeake 0
The Bayhawks fell to 1-1 after losing at Woodlawn on Friday night. The Bayhawks will look for their second win this Friday at Sparrows Point.
