Dundalk and Sparrows Point Boys Soccer teams won their regional titles and are playing in the state quarterfinals on Saturday.
Sparrows Point took their usual pathway in the 2A North II Region by defeating Dunbar 8-0 in the first round, won at Chesapeake 7-0 in the semifinals and defeated rival Eastern Tech 2-1 in the regional finals. The Pointers are the overall sixth seed in the 2A state quarterfinals and play at Parkside on Saturday.
Dundalk is an underdog story. The Owls defeated Parkville 5-2, won at Kenwood 4-1 and upset Dulaney 1-0 in the 4A North I Region Finals.
The Owls are seeded seventh in the 4A State Quarters and play at Parkdale on Saturday.
