Sparrows Point Girl Soccer is back in the state semifinals after the Pointer defeated Kent Island on the road 3 to 0 on Saturday night.
Addison Svec scored the first goal for Sparrows Point in the 22nd minute of the first half. The Pointers added a second goal before the half and scored their last goal midway through the second half.
The Pointers will now play CM Wright in the 4A State Semifinals. They join Perry Hall who will play in the 4A State Semifinals against Mongomery High.
Sparrows Point pulled off a big upset this week as they went on the road in Essex and defeated Eastern Tech 2 to 0 to win the 2A North Regional Title.
Sparrows Point Boys Soccer also upset Eastern Tech 2 to 1 this week to win the 2A North Regional Title, but the Boy Pointers season came to an end in the 2A Quarterfinals against Damascus 1 to 0.
