Sparrows Point Girls Soccer Win; Back in State Title Game

Sparrows Point Girls Soccer is back in the State Title Game for the first time since 2018 as the team defeated CM Wright 3 to 0 in the 2A State Semifinals on Friday night.

Sparrows Point goals were scored by Olivia Gardner, Ami Walters, Addsion Svec. Pointer goalie Joslynn Metz kept CM Wight out of the net.

According to the MPSSAA website, the Pointers will now play county rival Hereford in the 2A State Title Game. Hereford defeated Sparrows Point 1 to 0 in the regular season on Oct. 11.

Sparrows Point is seeking its first state championship since 2018 when they won six straight 1A state titles. They are looking for their first state title in the 2A Classification.
