Sparrows Point Girls Soccer is once again state champions.

The Pointers won their first state title since 2018 and their seventh in school history as they defeated Hereford 1 to 0 in the 2A Title Game. Hereford won the regular season match-up on Oct. 11 but Sparrows Point gets revenge in the title game.

The Pointers got back to the title game after defeating CM Wright in the state seminfinals.

Sparrows Point started the playoffs with a 12 to 0 win over Chesapeake and then went on to defeat Esses powerhouse Eastern Tech 2 to 0. Sparrows Point defeated Kent Island 3 to 0 in the state quarterfinals.

Sparrows Point was led this season by stars Addison Svec, Ami Walters, Olivia Gardner and Lacey Schleig.

The Pointers were coached by Jonathan Wynne.
