Treacherous Travel Conditions Expected on Tuesday Morning

US National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington is predicting a rough commute tomorrow morning.

“Winter Weather Advisories in effect for the areas in purple for freezing rain on Tuesday morning. Light freezing rain accumulations are expected with temps in the 20s, which will lead to treacherous travel conditions during the Tuesday morning commute,” said a statement from NWS Baltimore/Washington

With this forecast, the Maryland State Highway is advising motorists to delay their Tuesday morning commute.

“We are urging motorists to curtail non-essential travel on Tuesday morning due to potential icy conditions until temperatures warm. Those who must travel are urged to use extreme caution, particularly on elevated road surfaces as they freeze first. We are preforming pretreating operations across the state where the precipitation will begin as snow.”
