District 8 state Senator Carl Jackson announced a state legislative bond initiative that would create a bus line between White Marsh Mall and Tradepoint Atlantic in Sparrows Point. He released the following statement:
I’m proud to share that I was able to secure $2 million in the state budget to establish a new commuter bus route connecting the White Marsh Park and Ride to Tradepoint Atlantic, Baltimore County’s largest hub for industrial and manufacturing jobs.
With many employees living in District 8 and surrounding communities, this route will provide a direct, reliable connection to work.
At a time when gas prices continue to rise, this investment will also help workers save money on their daily commute.
Service is expected to begin as soon as July 1 of this year, providing relief and opportunity for workers in the near term.
Transportation should never be a barrier to opportunity or getting home safely at the end of the day.
As the District 8 State Senator, I remain committed to delivering real solutions that support our workforce, strengthen our local economy, and improve quality of life for our residents.
