Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighters Association reported fire crews were on the scene at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fullerton as a fire was reported in a structure behind the church.
The incident was posted on their social media page on Monday after 6:30 p.m.
The Baltimore County Fire Department reported the fire was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The church released a statement about the incident.
“This evening we received an alert that our Youth Building was struck by lightning and caught on fire. No one was in the building and no one was harmed. We will keep you posted on the status of the damage as we learn more.”
