Crews from the Essex Volunteer Fire Company reported a vehicle fire in the 1900 block of Middleborough Road between Sassafras Road & Oak Avenue in Essex.
The fire was reported on Friday, April 28 around 9 p.m. and it was reported as threat to a nearby structure.
Crews arrived to find a box truck with fire throughout the engine compartment.
Firefighters were able to put a quick knock on the fire before it could spread to the cargo box portion of the truck.
Crews remained on scene for about a hour and a half before clearing the call and returning to station.
