Perry Hall Football Falls 42-14 in 4A/3A State Semifinals

Perry Hall Football late season run ended in a 42-14 loss at Sherwood in the 4A/3A State Semifinals on Friday. The game was tied 14-14 at halftime but Sherwood pulled away in second half.

This was Perry Hall’s third straight appearance in the state semifinals but this was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

The Gators loss key players such as Terrell Hearn, Corey Costner and Justin Ashe to graduation and new coach Robb Johnson took over the team.

It appeared the season started off in rebuilding mode when the team started off 0-3 and lost to Dundalk 49-21 to drop to 1-4.

Then new stars Joey Albrecht, Cameron Scott and Noah Williams
started to emerge as Perry Hall won their last four games of the regular season.

The team won both home playoff games against Kenwood and Dulaney and came back from a 14-point deficit to win at Oxon Hill in the state quarterfinals.
