The new North Point Association announced they are hosting District 6 Senatorial community forum on Tuesday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Baltimore County Public Library Essex branch.
This is not a political event but an informational opportunity for residents to hear ideas from the candidates. No campaigning is allowed at the event.
All candidates will receive the same questions about topics in the community and receive the same amount of time to respond.
According to the new North Point Association, all three Senatorial candidates have been invited and two have committed.
Senator Johnny Ray Salling posted on social media that he never received an invite.
“I have not been informed of any debate scheduled for May 19th. As we are heading into graduation season, I will be participating in several events throughout District 6 to celebrate our local students and present scholarships recognizing their achievements,” Salling wrote.
“While I am open to considering other potential dates, this is an especially busy time of year with numerous constituent events and community commitments already scheduled.”
