Beach Bar in Bowleys Quarters Closes its Doors

Sunset Cove, a beach bar and restaurant in Bowleys Quarters, announced it has closed.

“Sunset Cove is permanently CLOSED. We would like to take this time to thank all of our loyal customers and employees.
It has been an amazing run with many fantastic memories,” said a statement on its social media page.

There was no explanation given for the closure.

On its social media page, a patron asked the bar why it didn’t announce its permanent closure after its season closed for the end of 2024. Sunset Cove responded its permanent closure was not planned.

The beach bar was located at 3408 Red Rose Farm Road and was known for its tiki bar, sand, palm trees and boat slips.

The Crazy Tuna, another bar along the Essex/Middle River waterways also closed last year.
