CCBC Essex to Hold Candlelight Vigil for Slain Alum

Perry Hall High School grad and CCBC Essex alum Andrea Rodriguez Avila was found dead on the campus of Rice University after a fatal shooting on Monday. CCBC announced it will hold a candlelight vigil in her honor.

“The news of the tragic loss of Andrea Rodriguez Avila, a member of CCBC’s 2023 graduating class, is devastating. Her untimely death, which has received national attention, leaves many at CCBC heartbroken. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Andrea’s family and friends during this difficult time,” said the CCBC Facebook page.

“Please join us in honoring the memory of Andrea at a candlelight vigil 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3 at CCBC Essex. Let us come together to support one another and remember the life of this bright young woman whose time with us was cut tragically too short.”
