Menorah Lighting to be Held at AVENUE

A Menorah Lighting will be held at The AVENUE at White Marsh on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

Founded in October of 2021, Chabad of White Marsh became the 28th Chabad Center in Maryland – focusing on providing Jewish experiences and programming for families in our community.

Last year, THE AVENUE at White Marsh provided Chabad of White Marsh with a location to host their first Menorah Lighting in this area to celebrate Chanukah.

Chanukah, also known as the Festival of Lights, celebrates the rededication of the second Jewish temple in Jerusalem.
In 2022, THE AVENUE looks forward to the installation of a 12-foot menorah to be displayed throughout December with a Menorah Lighting event planned for the first day of Chanukah.

This 8-day celebration begins this year at sunset on Sunday, Dec. 18. the celebration will include:

Donuts
Menorahs
Latkes
Ice Skating
Gelt Drop and more!

The word “menorah” is Hebrew for “lamp” and refers to the eight flamed lamp that is lit on the eight nights of Chanukah.
The lighting of the Menorah is a symbol and message of the triumph of freedom over oppression, of spirit over matter, of light over darkness.

A little bit of light dispels a lot of darkness.
