Council passes Marks’ bill for warehouse notification to community

The Baltimore County Council unanimously passed Councilman David Marks’ bill to require better notification of large warehouses at ts legislative meeting on Oct. 6

The bill requires that when a warehouse of a certain size is proposed as a limited exemption, the developer must notify the community in the same manner as for an application that proceeds through the regular review process.

The bill also requires the Planning Board to review the County limited exemption laws, compare them to peer jurisdictions, and submit a report to the Council.

“There is simply no reason why the community should not be notified when a large warehouse is proposed, no matter if the project is planned through the normal development process or through a limited exemption,”  Marks commented.
“I thank my colleagues for their bipartisan, unanimous support of this legislation.”
