Members of the local community joined the Baltimore County Police Department and the parents of Police Officer First Class Amy Sorrells Caprio to honor the fallen officer, who lost her life in the line of duty five years ago.
Sen. Kathy Klausmeier, Del. Carl Jackson and students from Gunpowder Elementary also joined for an annual Unity Day gathering at the School on Friday May 19.
The playground & reading area was dedicated last year in honor of Ofc. Caprio.
The playground is just a few streets away from where Ofc. Caprio lost her life on May 21, 2018.
