Two Suspects Arrested in Road Rage Fatal Shooting in Essex

Homicide detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department have arrested and charged two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Shalia Hendrix on May 5 in Essex.

The homicide occurred in the area of Route 702 and Marlyn Avenue.

While the incident was initially reported as a motor vehicle crash, when officers arrived on the scene they located Hendrix inside a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Medics transported Hendrix to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

On May 17, members of the Baltimore County Police Department arrested 29-year-old Rylan Harris and 28-year-old Darashea Gross in connection with the homicide of Shalia Hendrix.

Harris has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearm charges. Gross has been charged with first-degree murder.

Based on the investigation, this was an isolated incident that centered around road rage.

Both suspects are currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond.
