Councilman Marks Pushing for Public Library in Middle River

The following article was released by 5th District Councilman David Marks and the need for a public library in the Middle River area

Middle River residents should not have to travel to White Marsh or Essex for a public library.  That’s why I have been pushing for a branch of the Baltimore County Public Library in this area, and why we formed a task force that will build support for a branch leading into budget deliberations.

I have asked business leader Dave Conrad to chair the task force, which also include local residents Tamara Gunter, Michele Gugliotta, Julie Henn, Chris Hinkle, Melissa Ledford, Anthony Leonard, Josh Sines, and Michael Thomas, as well as Julie Henn, Baltimore County Board of Education.

Given fiscal constraints, the task force will consider creative ways to deliver a library as soon as possible to this area.

Libraries are not just a place for reading and researching, but also quiet public spaces – and Middle River should have one.
