Chesapeake HS Teacher Honored by MSET

Justin Patterson, interactive media production teacher at Chesapeake High School, is being honored by the Maryland Society for Educational Technology (MSET) with a Digital Learning Showcase
for September 2022.

Chesapeake High School boasts state-of-the-art media production facilities thanks to a grant from the John Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Lab.

The Digital Learning Showcase highlights Patterson’s work in teaching coding, computer graphics, simulated environments, and game development, and the ways that the student work is used to enhance student learning throughout the school.

For example, Patterson and his student have created a virtual Fort McHenry that will be shared at the Magnet Schools of America annual conference.

In his letter to Patterson about the honor, Brian Cook, MSET president, wrote: “Your willingness to harness the power technology to support students, staff, and parents at Chesapeake High School through interactive media production is second to none. We are proud of your passion and drive to
transform the lives of students through educational technology.”
