Eastern Tech student named “Young Woman of the Year”

Seniors Cayden Wilson of Eastern Technical High School and  Grace Berquist of Hereford High School have each been named Baltimore County’s Young Woman of the Year by the Baltimore County Commission for Women.

Annually, the commission presents “Woman of the Year,” “Young Woman of the Year,” “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year,” and “Woman Making a Difference” honors.

Wilson, who participates with Berquist in the Outstanding Young Women’s Leaders program, has served as president of Eastern Technical High School’s One Love Club (which seeks to end relationship violence), co-founder and co-president of the Morgan’s Message club (focused on student-athlete mental health),
and social media and marketing intern with the Baltimore County Bar Association.

At Eastern Tech, Wilson played lacrosse, indoor track, and soccer and acted as a social media manager for all the athletic programs she participated in.

She also served as the Eastern Tech Sports Network chief media analyst and executive board member and as a volunteer coach for Perry Hall Recreation’s girls lacrosse.

Wilson is committed to play Division II lacrosse at Davis and Elkins College.
