It was Opening Day for all Baltimore County Public Schools and Nottingham Middle School is now open for learning!

Today Nottingham Middle principal Bryan Thanner and the staff opened its doors for students. The new 1,410 seat school is located on King Avenue at the old Nottingham Park site. The school was named by the public.

The new northeast middle school was built to provide capacity relief in other schools, including Perry Hall Middle School. It is also a replacement for Golden Ring Middle School.

Sixth District County Councilman Mike Ertel visited the new school on Opening Day.

“This morning, I had the opportunity to join BCPS students, staff, and administrators at Nottingham Middle School for the first day of school. I joined Superintendent Dr. Myriam Rogers, Julie Henn and Tiara Booker-Dwyer from the Board of Education, Delegate Ryan Nawrocki, and Tabco President Cindy Sexton as we welcomed over 1200 students into the brand-new building,” Ertel wrote on social media

“The school was buzzing with excitement as the 6th, 7th, & 8th graders entered to begin the new school year. We wish them great success as they embark on this incredible journey and strive for greatness.”
