Tiffany Frempong, Tiara Booker-Dwyer and Emory Young have been appointed to the Board of Educaton of Balmore County by Maryland Governor Wes Moore. The appointees were nominated by the school board nominating commission.
Frempong is a White Marsh resident and the chair of the Northeast Area Education Advisory Council, a board-appointed position charged with advising the board on issues that affect students, families, communities and schools.
Booker-Dwyer is a senior policy associate at Policy Studies Associates and the U.S. Department of
Education Funded Region 4 Comprehensive Center. Her past positions include serving as assistant state superintendent for the Maryland State Department of Education’s Division of Career and College Readiness; a lead subject matter expert for AP Ventures and program director for the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education.
Young served on the board in 2017 and 2018 representing councilmanic district 2. He was president of the PTA Council of Balmore County from 2014 to 2017. He is an engineer for Verizon Communicatons.
Frempong is tentatively scheduled to be sworn in on Friday, April 14, and Booker-Dwyer and Young on Monday, April 17. Their terms will end in 2026. All three are expected to participate in their first board meeting on Tuesday, April 18.
