Repaving Project Set for North Point Blvd. in Sparrows Point

The Maryland State Highway Administration announced it will begin a $958,000 pavement resurfacing project on approximately one-mile of  MD 151 (Sparrows Point Road/North Point Boulevard) from the Wharf Road (MD 151B) interchange to MD 158 (Bethlehem Boulevard) in Sparrows Point, beginning on Thursday May 1.

The project is expected to be completed in late July, weather permitting.

Motorists can expect overnight single-lane closures and flagging operations where needed along this section of MD 151, Sundays through Thursdays between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. to patch, mill and resurface sections of asphalt pavement along MD 151.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium, will also use temporary traffic signs and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.

This project is part of the State Highway Administration’s ongoing maintenance program to patch, mill and resurface pavements on State highways within Baltimore County.

Motorcyclists are urged to be aware of uneven pavement surfaces during the pavement resurfacing work.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
