Dundalk Boys/Chesapeake Girls Basketball Advance to State 8

Everyone loves cinderella stories in basketball and Eastern Baltimore County has two underdogs – one in the boys bracket and one on the girls side.

Dundalk in Boys 4A State Quarterfinals

The Dundalk Boys team started off the playoffs with a 74 to 63 home win over Perry Hall. Then the Owls pulled off a shocker on the road as they upset defending state 4A champions Parkville tt to tt.

Dundalk continued their road warrior mentality as they won at Kenwood 56 to 52. Now the Owls are in the state quarterfinals. They are seeded eight and play at top seeded Henry A. Wise High School Friday at 7 p.m.

Chesapeake in Girls 2A State Quarterfinals

The Chesapeake girls team started off with a bye and went on the road to upset Dunbar 41 to 32.

The Bayhawks came home to defeat Essex rival Eastern Tech 47 to 40. Chesapeake draws the 8th seed and will play at top seed Hammond on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Other scores
Eastern Tech boys team came to an end in the Regional Finals after the Mavericks lost to Dunbar 60 to 51.

Overlea was a top seed in their region but the boys team was upset at home in the second round by Milford Mill.

Kenwood girls upset Perry Hall 36 to 32 in the 4A Regional Semifinals. The Bluebirds fell in the Regions to Western 67 to 11.
