High School Basketball Playoffs Underway

The high school basketball playoffs started in Baltimore County this week. Here is a look at the nine boys and girls teams in eastern Baltimore County.

Boys 4A

Dundalk defeated Perry Hall at home 74 to 63 on Tuesday. The Owls travel to Parkville on Thursday to play the defending state champion Knights.

On the other side of the 4A bracket, Kenwood received a bye and will host Mervo of Baltimore City on Thursday at 7 p.m. If the Bluebirds win, they will play the Dundalk-Parkville winner in the next round.

Boys 3A

Overlea received a first-round bye and will host Milford Mill in the second round on Thursday. Milford Mill defeated Dulaney 60 to 58 in the first round.

Boys 2A

Sparrows Point defeated Chesapeake 64 to 37 in the first round on Tuesday. The Pointers will play at Dunbar in the second round.

Patapsco won their first-round home game against Southwestern 60 to 39. The Patriots travel to Essex to play Eastern Tech. The Mavericks received a first-round bye.

Girls 4A

Kenwood opened up the playoffs with a 59 to 17 win over Dundalk. They play on the road against Perry Hall in Round 2. The Gators received a first-round bye. Parkville’s season came to an end on Wednesday when the Knights fell to Woodlawn 54 to 37.

Girls 3A

Overlea was knocked out of the first round after losing Tuesday at Catonsville 51 to 14.

Girls 2A

Eastern Tech started the playoffs with a 59 to 33 home win over Patapsco. They will now travel to play Sparrows Point in the season round. The Pointers earned a bye in the first round.

Chesapeake also received a first-round bye but will play on the road at Dunbar in the second round.
