Eastern Tech Girls Basketball Advance to State Quarters

The Eastern Tech Girls Basketball team is going to the 2A State Quarterfinals.

The Mavericks advanced after a 63 to 22 win over their Essex rivals Chesapeake on Wednesday in the 2A North Regional Finals.

Tech started the playoffs with a first-round bye and a 47-11 win over Dunbar in the second round.

The Mavericks will play at Lackey at Indian Head in Charles County on Friday, March 3 at 6 p.m.

Chesapeake made a strong run before losing to Eastern Tech. The Bayhawks edged Sparrows Point 38 to 37 and beat Carver Tech 47 to 25 in the first-two rounds.

Overlea lost to Dunbar 57 to 55 in the first round of the 2A Region.

In the 4A Region, Perry Hall won their first round game with a 59 to 16 win over Mervo. The Gators lost in Round Two to Western Tech 47 to 25. Dundalk fell in the first round to Catonsville 55 to 22 and Parkville lost to Dulaney 57 to 13 in their first game too.

Both Patapsco and Kenwood lost in their first round games in 3A. The Bluebirds lost Edgewood 52 to 24 and the Patriots season was ended by Bel Air 53 to 22.
