Parkville and Overlea Boys Basketball Teams Advance to State Quarterfinals

Parkville and Overlea Boys Basketball teams are in the state quarterfinals after regional final wins.

Overlea edged Carver Vo-Tech 75 to 73. Overlea got to the 2A regional finals by defeating Eastern Tech in the second round. Eastern Tech beat Chesapeake 59 to 54 in the first round in 2A.

Parkville got to the final eight after a thrilling 67 to 66 win over Dulaney in 4A.

The Knights won at the buzzer when Josiah Legree hit the game winning shot.

Parkville received a first-round bye and defeated Perry Hall 76 to 70 in Round Two.

Perry Hall defeated Catonsville 44 to 42 in the 4A First Round. Dundalk defeated Mervo 59 to 49 before losing to Dulaney 68 to 48 in Round Two.

In 3A, Kenwood defeated Patapsco in the first round 55 to 54 before losing to Aberdeen 76 to 62 in the next round.

Parkville was reseeded number one in 4A and will host Duval on Saturday, March 4 at 1 p.m.

The Falcons have been reseeded three their 2A bracket and will host Largo Saturday at 7 p.m.
