Perry Hall High Softball fought hard after falling behind twice and the team bounced back with a 9-7 road win against Sparrows Point.

The Gators were led by Savannah Carl as she had three hits, a stolen base, scored two runs and hit a solo homerun in the top of the 4th. Shalimar Lopez had four hits and scored two runs for the Gators. Carl was also the winning pitcher for Perry Hall as she struck out 12.

The Pointers were able to jump on Carl early 3-0 in the bottom of the first. Sparrows Point third-basemen Marisa Muffoltoo drove Katyanne Fouts, Alana Meurer, and Alexa Benkowski for all three runs for the inning.

Muffoltoo also help capped another big inning in the bottom of the fourth for the Pointers as she hit a triple to score Anneliese Brovo. Muffoltoo would later score to help the Pointers go up 7-6, but it won’t last long.

Perry Hall came back from both deficits. Sparrows Point pitcher Brovo would get the first two outs in the third inning but the Gators rallied to score five runs, highlighted by doubles from Addison Dunlap, Amber Deems and first basemen Julia Potts. The team would go up 5-3 after a Lopez hit scored two runs.

After trailing 7-6 before the top of the sixth, Carl, Lopez and Potts continued their clutch hitting to take over the game and preserve the win with a three-run inning to go up 9-7.

Julia Potts reaches third after a Amber Deems double. Pointer Marissa Muffoltto guards the bag at third and shortstop Heidi Knisley meets Deems at second base.

Both of these teams will meet in a rematch in Perry Hall on April 22.
