Pavement Improvements Scheduled on Philadelphia Road

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin improving the pavement on a one-mile section of MD 7 (Philadelphia Road) between New Forge and Raphel roads in White Marsh on Sunday, Aug. 25. The pavement improvement project will be complete by late fall, weather permitting.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, crews will work overnight to patch, mill and resurface asphalt pavement 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, Sundays through Thursdays. During work hours, motorists can expect single-lane closures and lane shifts on MD 7, with flagging operations in effect where necessary.

The paving work on MD 7 is part of the State Highway Administration’s highway maintenance program to improve safety and ride quality of pavements on state highways within Baltimore County. Contractor Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium will perform the paving work.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
