The Middle River Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company broke ground on a new, state-of-the-art fire station at 1236 Bengies Court in Middle River on Thursday.
.
This project is supported by $9 million in federal funding secured by Congressman Andy Harris, along with contributions from private supporters.
In the coming months, MRVFR will be launching a capital campaign to secure additional funding needed to complete the new facility and ensure it meets the long-term needs of our community.
The new facility will house engine, truck, squad, medic unit, and dive unit. We’ll also be replacing our aging ladder truck with a modern apparatus to better serve Middle River and eastern Baltimore County.
Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. Senator J.B. Jennings, Delegate Ryan Nawrocki, Councilman David Marks. Josh Sines, Baltimore County Volunteer Fireman’s Association. Maryland State Firemen’s Association. Baltimore County leadership and community supporters joined in on the ground breaking
“MRVFR has proudly served the Middle River community for decades — providing fire suppression, advanced life support, water rescue, disaster response, and more. This new station ensures we can continue delivering the level of service our neighbors expect and deserve,” Middle River Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company said in a statement.
“Thank you to every elected official, private donor, and community member who made this possible. We’re just getting started.”
