The MPSSAA high school baseball and softball playoffs start today. Here is a look at each local schools bracket in eastern Baltimore County
Baseball
4A
Parkville is the top seed in 4A North I and is the heavy favorite to win the region and advance to the State Quarterfinals. The Knights were in the same position last year and were upset by Kenwood in the region finals. They receive a first-round bye.
Dundalk is the second seed in the region but the Owls didn’t play Parkville, Perry Hall and Kenwood. They received a bye and will likely host Dulaney in their second round game.
Perry Hall will host Kenwood in the four-five matchup. Kenwood won the region in 2025 but struggled to a 4-12 record this year. The Gators lost to Parkville in the second round in 2025 and are hoping for a rematch in the 2026 regional semifinals.
3A
Patapsco is the top seed in the 3A North I Region. The Patriots get a bye and host the winner of Edgewood-Aberdeen in the regional semifinals.
Overlea is ranked second in this region and host Towson in the other regional semifinals as both teams received a bye.
2A
Eastern Tech has been on a roll winning five straight games. They host rival Sparrows Point at home on Thursday. The winner plays at Fallston in the second round.
Chesapeake went 4-8 on the year and received the fifth seed but got a great draw. They play at Forest Park and might be able to win at top seeded Dunbar in the second round. Then would face a tough opponent in the region finals.
Softball
4A
Perry Hall is the fourth seed and opens at home against fifth seeded Dundalk. The winner will have a challenge by playing Dulaney in the second round.
Kenwood and Parkville finished second and third and both get byes into a second round matchup. Both teams had lighter schedules than Perry Hall and Dundalk, but Kenwood might be legit.
3A
Patapsco is seeded third with a first-round bye. They play at Milford Mill in the second round.
2A
Eastern Tech is the fourth seed with a record of 5-10 and they host Carver Vo-Tech. The Mavericks will likely advance to play top seeded Dunbar. Don’t let the ranking and record fool you. Eastern Tech played a tough schedule and should handle Dunbar on the road.
Sparrows Point is the second seed and will be heavily favored over Chesapeake in the second round. Expect a Sparrows Point-Eastern Tech regional final.
