Fourth Northeast Middle School Boundary Meeting to be Held This Week

The fourth of five meetings of the committee charged with considering boundary options for central and northeast area middle schools in Baltimore County will be held next week. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. (Snow date: Thursday, February 23) at Parkville High School 2600 Putty Hill Ave. in Parkville.

The committee meetings have been scheduled through March 29, along with public information sessions on March 8 and 9 to solicit public feedback about boundary line changes under consideration.

The purpose of the boundary study is to establish an attendance area for the new northeast area middle school now under construction, to expand the attendance area for Pine Grove Middle School following completion of an addition that also is currently under construction, and to provide capacity relief to participating central and northeast area middle schools.

Schools included in this study are Cockeysville, Dumbarton, Golden Ring, Middle River, Parkville, Perry Hall, Pine Grove, Ridgely, and Stemmers Run middle schools and Loch Raven Academy.

The last scheduled committee meeting is to follow on Wednesday, March 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Parkville High School.

The public is invited to attend committee meetings or view the proceedings online.  All information, including a calendar of meeting times and all meeting materials, may be found on the Central and Northeast Area Middle School Boundary Study website.

Spanish interpretation services will be provided at each meeting.  Additional translation services will be made available upon request if received at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled meeting time.
